The initiative / About
Dimitrium is an independent technology initiative dedicated to free software, practical engineering and technology that serves communities.
Technology should remain in the hands of the people who depend on it.
We build useful systems, address neglected problems and help smaller organizations retain control over their tools, infrastructure and data. Our field is broader than software alone: electronics, telecommunications, automation, networks and computing are parts of the same practical discipline.
From a personal practice to a shared initiative
Dimitrium was founded by Aleksa Dimitrijević, an electronics and computer technician working across electronics, optical and IP networks, radio systems, video surveillance, PBX and IP telephony, PLC automation, computing and web development.
Today, Dimitrium is maintained by its founder. Its long-term direction is to grow into a registered foundation and an open platform where developers, engineers, organizations and communities can build useful technology together.
What we do
- Develop copyleft software and open technical tools.
- Help clubs, associations and smaller organizations solve real operational problems.
- Provide responsible commercial engineering, implementation and support.
- Document our work, decisions, limitations and contributors openly.
- Invite people to propose problems and contribute knowledge, code, testing, design and translation.
Dimitrium is not a finished institution. It is an initiative being built in public.
